Testimonial for Heidi Biddle
When I became pregnant I knew I wanted a doula for my birth. I found Heidi through a friend and after meeting with her, my husband and I knew that she would be a wonderful support and resource for us through our pregnancy and birth. My daughter is now 10 weeks old and I cannot imagine having gone through labor and delivery and the weeks that followed without Heidi by my side. Heidi is an incredible warm, caring and loving person and she has an aura about her that makes you feel safe and comforted. Heidi visited us twice at our home before our birth and we talked about our birth plan and she helped my husband and I learn about pain coping skills and different positions. I had to be induced 4 days after my due date and once I checked into the hospital and throughout the next day when my induction started Heidi was constantly checking in on me. Once she arrived at the hospital (Swedish Ballard) and walked into the room labor was getting pretty intense for me. When I heard her come in I immediately felt calm; she came right over to my side and started massaging my back and giving me positive encouragement and just making my husband and me feel better. My labor progressed rather rapidly after Heidi arrived and became extrememly intense. Heidi never left my side and I remember her talking me through each contraction. I am not sure I would have been able to deliver my child naturally and unmedicated without Heidi by my side. She was amazing to have with us and was completely focused on me during the whole labor and delivery. I am convinced that no woman should deliver a baby without a doula and if you are lucky enough to get Heidi I know you will have an amazing birth experience. I am still in touch with Heidi and if we ever decide to have a second baby I will not give birth again without Heidi by my side!
