Melissa was my doula during my first birth after 7 years trying to conceive and three rounds of IVF. I can not recommend her enough. She was always a text away any time I needed her. I contacted her often as I had severe anxiety during pregnancy always thinking things would go wrong. She was great at giving me factual evidence to rule out most things I would be scared about and really helped me through it. During labor and delivery she was very hands on in helping with counter pressure when I was having back labor. She was great at helping my husband find his place during labor, was there for the scariest moments including when they placed the epidural and were about to wheel me into emergency surgery for placental abruption and helping my husband understand what was happening when they made him leave the room as I was hemorrhaging. She took photos of all of the moments I would have missed in the first moments of my daughters life and helped to keep my husband calm and present in the moment. I couldn’t have survived my pregnancy or labor without Melissa. I will forever be grateful to her for the rest of my life.
