EVERYTHING about the birth of my second son was different than expected — he ended up coming early, spontaneously (vs a planned induction), in a different location (my birthing place was full), FAST, and unmedicated. And as a very Type A person, this definitely increased my anxiety. So having the team at Midwest Doulas was an absolute lifesaver. I was able to text them at 3am between contractions and get advice on what to do. And then when it was time, Justine beat me to the hospital and advocated for me when I wasn’t able to string two words together. She was my rock, guiding me through a very unexpected but beautiful experience. I couldn’t be more grateful for her and the entire team!
