Melanie was without a doubt the best choice we made for the birth of our baby girl. I'm a first time mom and decided I wanted to have a natural birth in a hospital setting and I was anxious about being pressured into interventions once we arrived at the hospital. With Melanie's support we labored at home and arrived to the hospital just in time to get positioned for pushing. I achieved my dream birth with no interventions and I left the experience believing my body was powerful and capable of anything. What an incredible start to motherhood!
Unfortunately a week after she was born I was having moderate headaches that I assumed were from sleep deprivation and hormones. I mentioned it to Melanie and she encouraged me to check my blood pressure which was sky high - I was able to see my OB and receive treatment for postpartum preeclampsia. Without Melanie's support and suggestion I could have had a stroke or seizure at home.
She is an incredibly kind, thoughtful and God-fearing woman and we will be using her for all subsequent births and recommending her to everyone we know!
