I greatly desired a natural, physiological birth and she supported me in this decision. Even when my labor failed to progress the way I had hoped it would, Chanel encouraged me to stay at peace and provided space for my partner and I to continue making calm and intentional decisions. After birth, I hemorrhaged and lost a lot of blood; even then, we were all able to remain peaceful and I had a plan already in place to tackle this complication thanks to Chanel's thorough help in creating a birth plan that explored all possibilities. When my baby had to go to the nicu shortly after birth, Chanel made sure to stay in the loop and focused on supporting both me and my baby through that difficult time. At the end of the day I was still able to have the physiological, unmedicated birth I had hoped for with minimal interventions while also maintaining safety and space for quick adaptations.
