My SIL told me before giving birth if there is one thing that is her biggest peice of advice, it would be to GET A DOULA and boy was she right. I not only got a doula, but realized I got the BEST one there is out there! Jade with wombkeepers was truly my angel the night I delivered my first baby. She helped guide me through the most intense experience of a lifetime. My baby ended up being sunny side up with his arm up over his head making for a very difficult and long labor (36+ hours). Jade worked with me around the clock to minimize my pain and try to rotate the baby to a more ideal position. In the end she ensured I had a healthy delivery with the least amount of discomfort possible. I had no idea about the power of counter pressure or how to effectively push and she helped me through it all. I can not sing higher praises for this woman. Also my husband LOVED having her support so he could navigate being the best support husband too and have breaks from "mentally and emotionally" the most intense night of his life as well!
