Hiring Bethany as your birth doula will be the best decision you can make as you plan your birth experience. I interviewed several other doulas and was in email contact with several more. Upon meeting Bethany for coffee/ tea to see if it was a good fit, I knew within 20 minutes I wanted her supporting me at the birth of my daughter. Bethany is incredibly brilliant, articulate, and professional, yet still humble and personable. She’s witty and humorous which can lighten the mood. She also knows when serious decisions need to be made and advocates for her clients. I felt so strong being supported by her. She was very readily available to me throughout my 65 hour labor, 2 hour caesarean and even the recovery afterwards. The medical team briefly allowed her into my recovery area; they knew she was such an integral part of the process and my healing. Soon after the birth she visited and we processed the entire experience - that felt like therapy. She never gave unsolicited advice and was never pushy. But when asked, she could answer any question with responses rooted in research. I should note that I purchased her Self Care Package with the massages. Her pre and post natal massages were just what my body and soul needed. I can confidently say Bethany would be a very good fit for many expecting parents.
