Char was amazing! This was my first pregnancy, and her knowledge and experience were invaluable. She provided a ton of resources and information prior to birth that helped prepare me for what to expect. Char listened to our preferences and helped us craft our birth plan. She has a great way of explaining medical topics so they are easy to understand and you feel confident you're making a good decision.
As someone new to the Quad Cities area, Char's familiarity with the hospital and staff at Genesis was a big bonus. She knew most of the nurses and staff who worked with us during my labor and delivery, which made for great teamwork. It was a huge stress reliever for me to know everyone was working together to deliver my baby. Char was also a great comfort to my husband during the process. He had a lot of questions and she answered them and reassured him that everything was going well.
I ended up having a C-section, and I was so grateful Char was able to stay with me throughout the whole procedure. I had never been in an operating room before, and it was intimidating, to say the least. Char comforted me and explained everything that was happening. She also took great pictures for us.
I cannot thank Char enough for guiding me through my first pregnancy and delivery. She is a wonderful doula and a kind and caring person.
