Without Gretchen, our birth story would have looked much different. It was without a doubt the BEST investment for our birth! She was there with us from day one all the way until baby arrived. And that was 4 days! We called her when we needed her, and each time she made enormous effort to be there both physically and emotionally. I have never felt more tended to than during this birthing experience. If you are on the fence about getting Gretchen as your doula, please please please do it! It saved me from the trauma that could have been with my birth. She was worth every penny and some. Her attention to my needs, my husbands needs, her professionalism with all of the birthing center staff as well as the hospital staff, how she captured the most special moments with the photos she took, the questions she knew to ask, how she guided me in my own verbiage with the hospital, her genuine care and support, the breathing techniques... all of it was more than I ever expected.
