I am eternally grateful for Kelly’s support through 4 pregnancies. Each birth unfolded better than expected, thanks in large part to Kelly. My 1st pregnancy, I knew I wanted a natural birth but didn’t know anything about the process, so I joined a Bradley Method birth class and hired Kelly as my doula to prepare myself for what was to come. I learned a tremendous amount in that class, but once labor began, everything I thought I would remember escaped me. The all-consuming reality of labor took over; thankfully, that's when Kelly showed up. With her calm and reassuring presence, it felt like my guardian angel had just walked into the room. She was hands-on and knew just what I needed at that moment and in each moment that followed. I labored at home until Kelly decided it was time for the hospital. Once there, she talked me through every contraction while simultaneously coaching my husband on how best to support me. Equally as important, she advocated for me and my baby with the hospital staff. Her knowledge and support gave me the confidence I needed to deliver my baby naturally and according to my birth plan. When I found out our 2nd baby was on the way, I enthusiastically asked Kelly to be part of that journey, too. During my 3rd pregnancy, Kelly suggested that I was a great candidate for home birth. I was intrigued but my husband was terrified, so she sat with us and addressed each of our questions and concerns, one by one. We woke up the next day with clarity; a home birth was our new plan. Kelly helped us pivot by introducing us to an amazing midwife. My 3rd and 4th babies arrived at home in a dream-like setting surrounded by my incredible birth team. Home birth was more comfortable and peaceful than I imagined it would be, and I never would have endeavored to do it if it hadn’t been for Kelly’s encouragement. Kelly is a blessing, a phenomenal doula who became a dear friend in the process, and I cannot recommend her more highly!
