We found Kim through a referral from our firstborn's Doula who had retired since then. When we met Kim we knew that she would be a perfect match, but nothing could prepare us for the birth the four of us would experience, but let's start from the beginning. After having a wonderful experience with my first son and our Doula then, having a Doula for the birth of our second child was a no-brainer. Kim's experience and personality are very reassuring and I was able to trust her from the first day we met. As a second-time mom, when my water broke in the middle of the night a few weeks early and contractions started right away, I decided to labor at home until the contractions got closer together in the morning hours. That is when I reached out to Kim and she jumped in her car right away. When we decided to go to the hospital as planned, my contractions got closer together so fast that by the time we left in our car, Kim had to tell my husband "When she says the baby is coming, don't keep going, pull to the side of the road - she knows!" before he closed the door behind me. Kim was driving right behind us. Well, we made it two blocks. The baby was coming. Kim was fantastic in guiding me to birth our child in the backseat of our car on all fourth. While we of course called 911, it all went so fast, that she helped me amazingly through the last pushes and welcomed our son into this world safe and sound before the first responders took over. Kim was calm, encouraging, very knowledgeable, and professional throughout the entire birth. Once in the hospital, she worked seamlessly with the hospital staff and they praised her for her great support. In the weeks after Kim gave me a great referral to a lactation consultant who was also an angel to me strengthening the breastfeeding relationship with my son. I am happy to give a personal and more detailed referral for Kim if ever needed - She's simply amazing!
