Pregnancy was an overwhelming and challenging experience for me, especially during the first half, so I knew I needed some extra support before the birth of our baby girl. Barbie was the perfect person for this. She was always available to answer questions and provided an abundance of tools in preparation for the big day. Her guidance was especially appreciated when I did finally go into labor while my partner was stuck at an overnight shift. She repeatedly checked in and talked me thru everything during all hours of the night and even the following morning (I made the decision to labor at home for as long as I could) until it was time to meet her at the hospital. In the hospital she seamlessly fit in with the staff and was a vital part of the birthing team- helping them maneuver me to move baby into an optimal position, feeding me water, making sure my birth plan was followed thru, assisting with breastfeeding, and so much more. She even took photos that we will cherish for a lifetime. Birth is an intimidating and anxiety provoking experience that we could all use extra support for- Barbie is the perfect person to fulfill this role.
