We loved working with Carly Ann and cannot recommend her enough! She was our advocate, cheerleader, and a great source of information throughout the pregnancy and baby day. During the pregnancy, she helped with many decisions by offering additional information and lending a supportive ear. Whenever I felt nervous about advocating for myself during prenatal appointments, Carly Ann would take the time to reassure me and talk through my choices.
My goal was to avoid medical intervention throughout the birth unless it was absolutely necessary. On baby-day, Carly Ann was incredible in assisting with this! We were held in triage for an hour because the nurse wasn't able to feel my cervix. Carly Ann suggested different positions to move things along and by the time the nurse came back, she was able to feel my cervix and I was dilated enough to head to the birthing suite. During active labor, she helped my husband with pressure points and other ways to relieve some of the pain. When it was time to push, things slowed down so she helped with lots of positions to move things along and cheered me along when I was giving up hope. After around 3 1/2 hours of pushing, she gave us more hands-on strategies to help our baby move down and avoid medical intervention, and 1 hour later, our baby was born! Following the birth (immediately and in the weeks that followed), she was so thoughtful and helpful with feeding support.
We highly recommend Carly Ann and feel so fortunate to have had her by our sides.
