Soon after I found out that I was pregnant, I began my search for a doula. I spoke with several individuals but immediately clicked with Krishyon. Even during our introductory call, it was clear that she would be a calming and supportive presence throughout my pregnancy and birth. I struggled with some issues during my second and third trimester but Krishyon would check-in on me often and offer to connect whenever I needed. It was so great to have a sounding board and get my innermost thoughts and fears off of my chest. She helped me get out of my head.
I ended up having a pretty traumatic birth experience which ended with an emergency c-section and almost a week at the NICU. This was the exact opposite of what I had wanted and planned for but it was my reality. Krishyon was with me from the moment my contractions were 5 minutes apart all the way until I was wheeled into the operating room (over 24 hours). She treated me as if I were her own daughter, supporting me through every new struggle and setback.
I didn't think I could be more appreciative but then she went above and beyond once I got home postpartum. She came and sat with me to ensure I was being kind with myself as I struggled with postpartum blues. She constantly sent me encouraging messages. And ultimately she was the sole reason I was able to achieve my goal of breastfeeding my baby despite our initial separation after birth. It allowed me to slowly bond with my baby and grow into my role as his caregiver. I would highly recommend Krishyon and would be happy to speak to anyone about my experience.
