Our experience with Amithyst was amazing and would recommend her to any family looking for a doula. Since our initial conversation, Amithyst has always provided resources and comfort during my pregnancy, labor and postpartum time. My husband and I are new to the Corvallis area, leaving our families on the east coast. As a result, we wanted a doula that would provide care, understanding, and support of our missed family members as well as the knowledge of labor and delivery, as well as advocating for our decisions. Amithyst was the perfect fit! This was our first child, and we were very nervous about being in a new area and trying to find care. Amithyst comforted us with her experience and knowledge of pregnancy/labor. Amithyst stayed with us while I labored at home and provided the comfort I needed when my contractions were difficult as well as stalled. She helped me progress at home with tons of techniques, positions, and encouragement. She came with us to the Corvallis Birth Center to labor late at night and also to Samaritan Hospital when I was transferred. During delivery, she was the calming voice and advocated for us when we were overwhelmed by what was happening. Amithyst also provided excellent postpartum care. She helped me when I was struggling to feed our daughter through an SNS tube and provided the help I needed during the challenging time we faced breastfeeding. She even helped us find donor milk when my supply was low! Amithyst will always be an amazing part of our birth experience and feel so fortunate to have had her as our doula!
