At the start of our pregnancy we were overwhelmed with joy as well as nervousness of all the unknown to come our way. A friend of mine had referred me to reach out to Barbie since she had such a great experience with her. After having an introductory phone call, I immediately felt so comfortable with Barbie and knew I wanted her to be a part of our journey.
Barbie was phenomenal from the initial meeting up until our birth. It was really beneficial for my husband and I to have a neutral third party person to speak to about our worries, wishes, milestones, and questions we had that came up along the way. Barbie was always supportive of our choices and made sure we had a clear understanding on all of our available options. I feel this made us confident while in labor with advocating for what we wanted and denying options we weren’t comfortable with.
While in labor, Barbie was very involved and my husband was able to get a hold of her immediately when labor progressed sooner than expected. She was present during delivery and captured some amazing photos for us to have. Even during post partum, Barbie continued to check in on us and answer any questions we still had.
Birth was always something that made me anxious, with Barbie’s support, it was such a beautiful and empowering experience. Should we continue to grow our family in the future, we will be including Barbie in that journey as well!
