After 2 sections & trauma/dismissal from my previous Dr, my 1st meeting with Melissa was love at the first hug! She settled my husband uneasiness w/ all the false info we had been given! She took the time to educate not just me but my family. She helped me build faith in my body, not just w/ her knowledge but w/ her support! I had prodromal labor & she helped build me back up! I knew why I needed a supportive Dr but having a supportive Doula was life changing! I cried when I realized how uneducated I really was. How I didn’t even get a chance to really use the gift of my body! She was even knowledgeable about me having Vasovagal syncope. I used every bit of info she gave me & after 3 weeks of prodromal labor, I went to the hospital, I’d been at 4cm forever & was feeling discouraged but Melissa talked me through wanting to give up on my plans! They were going to send me home but my water broke, I had literally spoke to her & she was just lifting my spirits & pow there I was in full labor! I was screaming & trying to remember all my education. She was right, after prodromal labor real labor moves quick! She was on her way & when she walked in the door she reminded me to put on my playlist & went to work! My mother & husband both felt so much better, they could follow her lead. 15 mins later, 3 hard pushes, & being coached by an amazing woman I gave birth to my daughter in a position I didn’t even know was possible! She had her gloves on because everything moved so quickly no doctor was there, & she was ready to catch my daughter! I’m thankful to this day for the season she came into my life! If you ask my husband, he’s thankful! If you ask my mother, she’s thankful! Why? Because what she’s able to do, and the way she serves mothers is a gift from God! Knowing I could've had her in my life since 2019 had me all the more grateful that I didn't miss her in 2022!
