When I became pregnant as a first time mom, a number of friends suggested that I hire a doula. My husband was initially a bit skeptical of the need for a doula but supported my decision. I searched for quite some time and instantly knew that Natasha would be a good fit after meeting her. I liked that Natasha had a calming presence, that she seemed to be unbiased about her client's birth and newborn care preferences, and that her new background in midwifery made her a very educated person to have in the delivery room.
Throughout my pregnancy, Natasha helped me to create and refine a plan of birth preferences for what I hoped for my hospital delivery and provided me with realistic expectations related to my preferences. She visited my husband and I at our home 2 times to educate us about birthing positions, pain relief techniques, counterpressure, and so much more. Natasha was on call for my birth for several weeks. I went in with an open mind to the process but was hopeful for an unmedicated hospital birth. I can confidently say that Natasha is the only reason that goal came to fruition. She kept me hydrated, cooled off, made sure that I was getting the baby moving by encouraging different positions and pain management techniques. She ensured that my preferences were honored when I was not in a state to respond to hospital staff and advocated for me throughout and after the birth. Natasha is calm and has an incredibly strong presence. It was incredible and empowering to have her help me through my unmedicated birth. After we left the hospital, my husband even exclaimed that Natasha was "worth every penny!".
I was grateful to have her checking in and am eternally grateful to have had her be a part of my journey. I will certainly be hiring her again should we ever have another child and would wholeheartedly recommend her to any local friend.
