Amal also supported me in establishing clear boundaries and being assertive in what I want, despite cultural norms in Jordan which often make you shy to speak out. Being from the same culture, Amal was able to help me navigate this more effectively. I wouldn’t have been able to push back to suggestions with the right questions or manage other people’s feelings while I was managing my own.
I also appreciate how much Amal would respect my decisions and empower me to listen to what my body will need in that moment by reminding me that this is my own experience and my own body.
The methods Amal introduced to me and my partner in pain management, allowed me to move through the different stages of my labour more easily. Although I opted for an epidural, it failed, and so these methods became even more important as my body started pushing the baby out.
Im so grateful that I got my Vbac and had all the first moment experiences I didn’t have with my first born. The moment I saw my baby come into this world and placed on my chest was the moment I was yearning for and I cannot thank Amal enough for seeing me through this until the end. We loved working with her and couldn’t recommend her enough.
