My journey to motherhood was very challenging, we suffered several losses and when my husband and I decided to try one more time we knew we wanted that last time to be different. Several changes were made to include hiring a Doula. I didn't know what a Doula was in my previous pregnancies but as I joined support groups for loss the term "Doula" came up a lot. So I did some research and found my amazing Doula Christian Cade! From our first conversation I knew Christian was a positive and supportive person. We talked as if we had known each other for years. I felt very comfortable with her from the very beginning, which validated my decision to hire a Doula.
Throughout my entire pregnancy Christian was always available to me no matter the time of day. If I had a question or was freaking out about something (which happened often) she was always there and helped to calm my nerves and assure me everything was okay. She gave me guidance and was very resourceful with helpful links or articles. She is very knowledgeable and I really appreciated her being a Chiropractic Doctor. Her visits always made me feel better about anything that I was overthinking. I delivered my rainbow baby during a winter storm which just added to my already high anxiety and nervousness. I didn't think she was going to make it to my delivery due to the weather but she made sure she was there for us that day. When she arrived I instantly felt calm. Having her in the room was so reassuring, when different buzzes and noises were coming from the equipment I was hooked up to she knew what it meant and reassured me everything was okay and called my nurse when she felt the need.
Christian even made a house visit once we got settled at home and that's a true testament to her character, support and kindness. I'm so glad we chose Christian to be our Doula she made our last attempt at becoming parents an enjoyable success.
