My husband and I can’t recommend Shannon enough! She joined us for our fourth home birth when we moved to central Illinois. This wasn’t our first rodeo and almost didn’t hire a doula; so grateful we did! It was our most peaceful birth, although one of my longest labors. Shannon set the mood and saw to it that my wishes for this birth were attended to; from keeping my water bottle full, my bladder empty, my postpartum tea brewed, my music always playing, and reminding me to move or rest. Most importantly she trusted my body and the birth progress; reassuring me that all is well and never feeling rushed. My husband also felt like Shannon was a pressure release valve; allowing him to be present with me while she set the environment and supported us both. We certainly have a friend in Shannon!
