I had the privilege of working with Stephanie for the birth of my son. We met at her office to go through everything I was looking for when it came to support for my birth. I felt welcome and knew right away she was a good fit for us. She also came to our house prior to meet my husband and older daughter as well. She answered any questions we had and showed me some of the things she brings to births. The day I went into labor she was absolutely wonderful. She consulted with me to get an idea of where I was, communicated throughout her drive to me, and once she arrived at our house made me feel so comfortable. She took over timing my contractions, kept me calm and relaxed, guided me through a couple different positions and movements which helped me progress quickly and calmly. She helped guide me through pushing and post delivery helped keep me calm when there was a turn of events. She helped my husband load up our son and came to hospital to support both me and my husband and was such a blessing the whole day! She stayed until everything was finished and we were settled. Our postpartum visit was a nice send off and she was great about discussing with me openly everything I missed after our son's birth ( it was best I didn't know in the moment) and offered any help I needed working through any or all of it. If we have another child I will most definitely look to having her attend again and also will recommend her to anyone and everyone! If you are questioning if you want a doula or not, without a doubt the answer should be YES!
