I knew from my first meeting with Justine that I wanted her at my birth. This was my second pregnancy. My first labor & delivery was very long and difficult, largely because my baby was sunny side up. That labor ended with an unplanned c-section. I did not have a doula with my first and this time I wanted to make sure I was as prepared as possible to try to achieve a VBAC.
Justine was experienced with births similar to my first and gave me confidence that it would be different this time. It was! I had a home birth and it could not have gone better. It was an incredibly fast labor (opposite of my first) and thankfully Justine was able to make to to my house to help guide me with the best positioning as I was pushing. She was calm, encouraging, and so helpful. Our postnatal visit was a beautiful time to debrief about the birth.
All the doulas at Midwest Doulas were wonderful during prenatal visits and I would have felt well taken care of with any of them. If you’re considering hiring a doula, look no further than Justine and her awesome team!
