Working with Midwest Doulas (Justine, Ale, and Ashley) was the most amazing and supportive experience for e and my husband as we went through the pregnancy and birth of our first child. Immediately upon meeting Justine, we felt confident in her knowledge of pregnancy and the birthing process and knew that she would be a great person to have on our team during this stage of life – and we were proven right.
The resources provided to us through Midwest Doulas was above and beyond what I needed to prepare for the labor of my first child. The unknown can be scary (at least it was for me!) and the continuous check-in calls, the birthing classes, lactation consultation, etc., that were all included through our package with Midwest Doulas made me feel 100%+ ready for birth when the time came. And speaking for my husband – he was also incredibly grateful for the knowledge and resources that were provided to me and himself, and learned more about childbirth in 6 months than he thought was possible, but also made him feel completely prepared.
Where I found Midwest Doulas to be the most impactful was during labor. From the onset of contractions until our little girl was in my arms, Justine was there with me every step of the way. She was my rock during labor with her continuous support, calm demeanor, and a confidence boost when times were difficult. Justine was also a partner to my husband during our labor, and helped him help me during every phase by coaching him and guiding him. We truly do not believe we could have gotten through labor and delivery without Justine – she made the entire experience so personal and calming, even while being in a hospital setting.
I can confidently say we will have the Midwest Doulas at any potential future birth of a child, and would without a doubt recommend them to anyone looking to have a doula & team throughout their pregnancy and birthing experience.
