Using Aunt Sarah Doula for postpartum support was the absolute best choice we made when expecting our second baby in April, 2022. While we initially expected our greatest need would be helping with household tasks/childcare during c-section recovery, Sarah provided so much more than that. There is nothing that Sarah was not willing to do to make sure that our family felt supported and that we were given time to adjust to our big change while continuing to heal. Sarah proved to be a calming force when dealing with feeding and health difficulties with our infant (a severe milk protein allergy) and made sure our 2 year old son always felt loved and cared for at a time when it would be very easy to make him feel "forgotten". Through recovery, Sarah listened to our needs and sometimes was able to identigy them before we even could - she would always make sure I was drinking enough water, napping enough and not overdoing it. She even made sure our dog was getting enough exercise. Giving both children the attention and care they needed gave me, as a mom, the opportunity to bond deeper with them both and feel no resentment or stress towards my postpartum period. Sarah was able to easily adapt to our family's changing needs as our kids got a bit older and the bond that she has created with them is unmatchable.
