Melissa is a one of a kind person who provided me with specific one of kind support that gave me the confidence and reassurance I needed to have a birth that was right for me. The connection Melissa and I made was immediate, like a friend I always had but never had met before. She was extremely knowledgeable about the c section experience, the hospital I gave birth at, and the doctors I was seeing. Prior to my birth we met at my house and went over all the details of creating a birth plan, she reassured me that my wants and needs to make this a good experience with a healthy mom and baby were well within my rights and of the OB/hospital ability. The day of she met us at the hospital on time and never left my or my husband side until me and the baby were "in the clear". She told me everything that was happening, keeping clear communication. She always had my baby's and my best interest as a human being and a mother at the forefront of every conversation and debrief with the hospital staff. Throughout my 3 labors/births I have never had a support like her, I have never felt so taken care of and in the hands of someone so knowledgeable. After hosiptal discharge, she visted me and the baby at home, was available via phone/text anytime. She was exactly what I needed when I needed it, like she was anticipating my feelings and thoughts. I can not speak more highly of her and how wonderful she is as a person and as a doula. If I have another baby she will be my first call. She is pure magic.
