Hiring Ciara was the best decision I made in my birth plan. Ciara's gift is that she pairs a special ability to listen and hold space with a vast knowledge and years of education on the mechanics of birth. There was no question I could ask her about the pregnancy and birth experience that wasn't met with an answer filled with empathy AND years of education + experience. She is the perfect teammate if you feel afraid of birth. She will listen to you, laugh with you, provide you with resources and strategies, acknowledge the hard, and she'll coach you to the finish line. (Literally. I truly believe how she coached me while I was pushing was the reason I was able to deliver vaginally and avoid a c-section.) I hope she will be with me at all my births, I don't want to bring a baby into this world without Ciara's help!
