Testimonial for Suzanne Ledbetter, CD

In mid-December of 2022, my wife and I decided to start the search for a doula to assist with the delivery of our first newborn which we were expecting mid-January of 2023. Susanne was the first Doula that we contacted, and after speaking with her over the phone, we were both impressed by her knowledge of the birthing process as well as her professional yet caring demeanor. My wife and I both agreed that we felt comfortable/confident in our decision to let Susanne guide us through delivery as our doula.

To our surprise, my wife was admitted to the delivery center only a couple days later. The doctors were recommending an immediate induction due to complications with my wife's pregnancy. Susanne was very responsive over the phone and text and made herself available on a few hours notice. We hadn't even completed the paperwork yet, but she was there! And was she amazing!

Susanne helped us understand all the things the doctors and nurses were telling us in laymen's terms and let us know that we had the right to refuse medical advice / recommendations (as long as they weren't life threatening to mother or child). This really helped us remain calm and feel like we were having the birth of our newborn the way we wanted to.

During labor, Susanne was incredible at helping my wife with her breathing techniques and just being a cheerleader throughout, encouraging her when she was pushing correctly and correcting when she noticed something that could be improved. The labor lasted just over two hours and having Susanne there really made a difference, in my opinion.

After the delivery, Susanne was kind enough to drop by our home to provide care for our dog while we stayed at the hospital to recover. That just goes to show how trustworthy and caring she is.

I would 10 out of 10 recommend Susanne and hope she will be there for the birth of our next child!
