Hiring Jessica to be our doula was the best decision my partner and I could have ever made. Jessica is extremely experienced, knowledgeable, calm, caring, and respectful. From the moment I met her I knew that she was the person that I wanted to be by my side when I went into labour and gave birth (aside from my partner). She helped me stay calm during labour and guided me through the toughest parts when I felt like I could not handle the intensity of pushing and the fatigue I was experiencing. After our daughter was born, Jessica was there to ensure we had a successful latch for breast feeding and skin to skin contact for the first hour after birth. Jessica’s knowledge of breastfeeding and how to cope with all my new body sensations and changes postpartum was extremely helpful. Her postpartum visits allowed me to establish effective and pain free breastfeeding, which made the experience enjoyable and has allowed me to continue my goal of exclusively breastfeeding. Jessica went above and beyond during her postpartum visits by teaching me and my partner new skills, such as how to sooth our newborn, rock her to sleep, carry her in a sling, and bathe her. Jessica is an outstanding doula and amazing person. She made our prenatal, labour, birth, and postpartum experience less overwhelming which helped us enjoy and ease into our new role as first time parents.
