I don't even know where to begin with Lily. She went above and beyond for me during my pregnancy birth and my postpartum care. During my pregnancy she listened to me and knew exactly what I wanted for my son's birth. I was alone for my pregnancy and was my support person, and she exceeded my expectations. During my birth she understood me because during my pregnancy she truly got to know me. There were times during my labor I would look at Lily and she would ground me and bring my thoughts back just by looking at me. She reminded me that I could and would have my baby. She also knew I wanted to be the first person to grab my baby. When I was pushing him out she reminded them to let me grab my own baby. The doctors did all because Lily made sure of it. During my labor I really wanted the shower to help with intense contractions. I was spending about 30 minutes in the shower and 30 on the monitors. My nurse "Helga" (not her name) came in demanding I come out so she could check me and get me on the monitors and I refused saying I just needed to get through my contraction first. Lily tried to ask her to come back in a few minutes. Helga proceeded to also tell me "you chose to have a baby, stop crying and complaining. " That's when Lily stepped in and said the nurse needed to leave. Lily said nobody would speak to me that way. Helga said well I'm going to get the doctor. Lily said that's fine as long as when he gets here you're not with him. Lily also told me so many times during transition that I was doing amazing and she was so proud of me. Honestly after I had my son she's still my bestie. I had never met her before I got pregnant but now I couldn't imagine not having her. She has so many techniques that help with pain management and she's so kind. She never once let anyone force me to do anything and she made sure I was informed. She also wouldn't let anyone touch William or his cord and placenta until I said it was okay. Love love love Lily!!
