I was hesitant about hiring a doula at first, as I wasn’t aware how much or how exactly it was going to help in my labor process. I decided to give Joy a call based on a friend’s recommendation and we were a perfect match since the very first call. She understood and acknowledged all of my fears and anxieties and worked with me throughout my pregnancy so I would be as informed as possible. She also helped me organize my thoughts and emotions so I could have a better idea of how I wanted my son’s birth to be. She was the calm within the storm. She helped me keep as relaxed as possible during my labor process, and helped with relaxation exercises when contractions were strong. I couldn’t have made it without her. Even my husband agrees hiring her was the best decision! She did a great job helping him, help me, too! I can say that I have smiling pictures during my labor process thanks to her! I will forever be thankful to her and will never forget her presence!
