Amy was an essential part of our birth story. She walked with me through my pregnancy and helped me stay positive when there were challenges and she helped me get through each hurdle with confidence. When I went into labor and arrived at the birth center, Amy was not far behind us and as soon as she arrived, she was right there with me the whole time. My midwives were nice and they offered advice as far as position changes and changes from the shower to tub etc, but Amy’s soft encouraging voice helped me mentally through to the end. She held one hand while my husband held the other. My husband raves about her and having a doula in general to every expecting or soon to expect couple we know. He is so grateful that he had her to help him support me as he would have struggled without her to find the words in the moment or to know what to expect. We are both forever grateful for the positive influence she had on us bringing our baby girl into the world.
I’ve read some moms experiences with their doulas not being so available or present when they are needed and I just want every person reading this to know that Amy was there for me whenever I needed her through my pregnancy and labor and she knew just what to say and always had helpful tips that made a difference.
