When I found out I was expecting our first baby, I was scared to death thinking about the delivery day. After doing some research into the pros of having a doula present during birth, I found and connected with Barbie! Looking back it was the best thing I could have done for my mind and spirit to both prep for and get through child birth.
From our first visit, Barbie took the time to listen and answer any questions I had, even though I was only 10 weeks pregnant at the time. She checked in on a weekly basis, sending positive affirmations and reliable informational links on what to expect on a week to week basis. As we all know, it can be difficult to weed through reliable sources on the internet, so this was very important to me.
The labor and delivery experience with Barbie was like no other and I could not have done it without her. She kept me moving throughout the laboring process to help cope with pain. She resssured both my husband and I as to what was normal and what we should be expecting during the process. She was a medical advocate for me, during a time I felt I had little say and little knowledge. I couldn't imagine bringing my son into the world without her there.
If you're like me and your pregnancy/birth anxiety is high, having a doula on your side is a must and Barbie is the best of the best!
