For my VBAC I wanted to hire a doula since I knew how awesome of a support they could be through labor and delivery. Before we hired Kate my husband was very skeptical about having someone there since he had done such a wonderful job the first time. I convinced him and when we met Kate during our first prenatal visit she was so warm, loving and very knowledgeable. I knew then that I would have an amazing support system with her by my side. Throughout my pregnancy she made me feel like my feelings we're valid, and she answered my questions, and pointed me to the resources I needed to make sure I made informed decisions. She went above and beyond our expectations, she helped me ask the right questions and advocate for myself. When we were at the hospital she was so intuitive to what I needed and when I needed it, it's like she could read my mind. Her tender touch relieved my fears and I didn't know this but my husband mentioned that she promoted him to do things for me to make me feel more comfortable like holding my hand or kissing me before I went into the OR. I wanted a VBAC but ended up having a C-Section and because of all the support and love I received I wouldn't have it any other way. Even if you're planning to get induced or are having a c-section like I did, I would still recommend having Kate as your doula because she offers support through it all. She is a treasure and I was so honored to have her at my birth. <3
