My experience with a doula was not the normal but it was amazing! My midwife was thinking I was still in early labor and suggested Michelle. She called and spoke with my mom so I could keep my head in the right place. After talking to my mom she gave us some reassurance that I was intact in labor and was able to translate that to the midwife. We met Michelle at the birthing center and she jumped right in! We had never met but she didn't care and you couldn't tell! She remembered everyone's name and wasn't scared to jump in when needed. Birth went fast and she was there the entire time coaching me on and even holding a leg when needed. She was a huge help with breast feeding and I believe made it successful. She was amazing and made my birth something that was unforgettable. She checked in several times after birth but not annoyingly! She came out and visited once family was gone and we kind of slowed down. She is so calm and kindhearted.
