Our doula Michele went above and beyond expectations. Our labor lasted 60 long hours and she was there for well over half of it. While there she encouraged me every step of the way. She advocated for me and asked questions when I wasn't feeling well enough to ask them myself.
She made sure I was as comfortable as possible and asked me every 30 minutes or so if my needs changed and how she could assist me. She made sure I was up when I could be up. She made sure I was changing positions and breathing through my contractions.
She took pictures when I thought no one did. It made me cry when I received them because I thought I would never have memories of my labor. She helped the babies dad/ my boyfriend understand his new role as a daddy. She helped him cope with knowing he would be on his own for a few days as my labor turned c section due to complications.
Michele left while I was having my c section because no visitors were allowed. Once I was out she never hesitated to call or text to check in and stayed in touch with my boyfriend.
Once we got home she continued to check in and even came over to help me on my new breastfeeding journey. Michele made our delivery so much calmer. I really enjoyed having her!
