Coming into my third pregnancy, my first girl, I wanted to be all natural. My first thought was a home birth with a midwife and doula. I was halfway through my pregnancy and couldn't find a midwife to do a homebirth. I connected with Julie through her husband who is in the Army with me and we made plans to meet. I could not have been more happy! Julie is the sweetest and most amazing person. And as a doula, very knowledgeable and skillful in her duties. From the planning and prepping process, to the delivery and postpartum visits Julie was absolutely wonderful and I can not see myself getting pregnant again and not hiring her. Without the medication I felt everything and although the labor wasn't as bad as I thought, it was by no means easy, but Julie kept me calm and encouraged me the entire time (about 12 hours) and took time to teach my husband how to comfort me through the contractions and helped him though the process of stimulating our baby girl and cutting the cord. We could not have gotten through this without her. She was definitely a blessing to our family. And Lord willing, if we have another, she will be the first we call.
