Heidi was amazing - is the simplest way to say it. I had my daughter 13 years ago in a hospital with only the nurses as my guide. They broke my water to speed things up, it was too much so I ended up getting an epidural which slowed things down, it was a mess. I was determined to have a much different experience with the birth of my son. I wanted someone on our side. With this being the first labor/delivery for my current husband, I also wanted someone there to help him. Heidi did that & much more. Her inital meetings to lay out the plan & get to know her made us feel so comfortable, we trusted her from the begining. She is a master of knowing what's going on, she walked me through my contractions like she was in my head knowing before I did when they were peaking or coming on again. I just listened & trusted in her encouragement to get through it. This time I had back labor the whole time & Heidi took turns with my wonderful husband to put pressure on my back. She worked so well with our doctor, whom she'd never met before, they were the perfect team. I ended up having a totally natural delivery for the birth of our son. I have no doubt that I would have ended up getting an epidural this time if Heidi wasn't with us. She is totally worth the added cost - although I'm sure we ended up saving money by going natural. Her follow-up visits were so helpful. I have been struggling with my milk supply & she had so much great advice. She's gone above & beyond what I expected, we are so grateful for all of her help.
