We were relatively new to the city and first-time parents, so were incredibly grateful for the many opportunities Alaska provided for building community as well. Alaska provided critical virtual support when my water broke prematurely and for nearly 24 hours of labor until the time came for delivery. When she arrived in person at the hospital, my partner and I both felt so comforted and relieved to have her there with her “bag of tricks.” We felt confident about every decision we made along the way, and can’t imagine our birthing experience without her coaching, guidance, and unwavering support!
