Let me start by saying I couldn't have picked a better doula. She knew how important having a vbac was for me, she encouraged me mentally and emotionally to try for it but also let me know it was okay if things didn't go the way I wanted. She helped me prepare for both a vaginal birth and a caesarean. She made a birth plan for both situations and listened to all of my requests.
Fast forward to about a week before my scheduled csection Julie had an unfortunate accident that left her unable to attend my birth. We were both devestated but she worked fast to find a backup doula that fit the budget and timeframe we needed. However, the universe had other plans because the morning of my csection the doctor decided she would let me try for a vbac! I was induced and Julie was right by my side through it all. She applied counter pressure to help with my intense back labor, diffused essential oils and talked me through some really tough contractions. And might I add she did all of this with ONE arm. Afterwards gifted me with encapsulating my placenta, placenta prints and my baby's umbilical cord keepsake. Julie is such a gentle and beautiful soul. She was literally made for this.
I say all of this to say Julie is amazing inside and out and if you're looking for someone who genuinely cares about you, is knowledgeable and isn't just doing this for the monetary gain this is who you should go with.
