Aleca worked for my family 24/7 for two weeks in August of 2022 to provide postpartum support after the birth of our first child. Before she arrived, I was unfamiliar with the type of value she would provide, thinking she would simply be an extra set of hands for my husband and I as we navigated how to care for our newborn. When our two-week agreement came to an end, it was clear to my husband and I that Aleca had provided a level of support we didn’t even know we needed.
In two short weeks, Aleca acted as a live-in nanny, cook, personal assistant, educator, cleaning service, advisor, friend and ultimately, an extension of our family. She spent every night caring for our newborn so my husband and I could catch up on sleep, which, as I’m sure you can imagine, was invaluable. We were heartbroken to see her go but are so grateful for the support she provided and education we were able to take away from our time with her.
