Melissa was an excellent birth doula! I felt completely secure and safe in her hands with all the experience she has. I feel for sure that my baby was positioned well for birth, which made for a successful, rather quick vaginal birth, because of the exercises Melissa taught my partner and I.
On the day of my actual birth and labor, of course nothing went to plan. I had wanted to labor at home until the last minute and then have my second stage at the hospital. I had also planned for an unmedicated birth. Unfortunately, my water broke early and I had to be/elected to be induced due to the risk of infection. The pitocin labor was really intense and I made it 8 hours unmedicated, but then elected to get an epidural. Even so, my birth was a transformative and beautiful experience, thanks to Melissa's knowledge of birth and labor, and support of me and my spouse.
Ive already recommended Melissa to others! She's the absolute best.
