We hired Leslie as our postpartum doula after our third baby was born - and it was the best decision we could have possibly made during the initial postpartum period. I had an unplanned c-section and since we don't have family in the area to help, we relied on Leslie so much during the first 6 weeks of our daughters life. She's basically the mom we wish we all had, but without the emotional baggage (haha!). She is so loving, attentive, calming, and incredible with both our newborn and our two older children (age 5 and 3). I could not have navigated the transition to a new family of five as smoothly if it weren't for Leslie.
After our daughter became jaundiced, we needed to switch to bottle feeding and Leslie supported our pumping + nursing + formula feeding journey without hesitation. She is judgement free and I felt supported no matter the decision - which is so crucial in those tender, emotional early days and weeks postpartum.
On top of expertly caring for our newborn, she made us dinners and snacks, did the dishes and laundry (baskets and baskets of laundry!), washed all bottles and pump parts in the middle of the night, and was always there to answer questions or just talk about how the baby and I were doing. She always remembered when we had various appointments and would text us to see how it went. It was so wonderful to have Leslie there for both practical help as well as emotional support.
Do yourself the biggest favor and hire Leslie as your postpartum doula. Future you will be so thankful you did! :-)
