I would highly recommend Amy as a doula! She was such a gift to me for my first birth. I honestly don’t think I would’ve been able to go through with what turned out to be my ideal birth without her comfort, reassurance, and encouragement. There was a point where I almost gave into the pain and would have deviated from my wish for a natural birth if it weren’t for her encouragement. She kept reminding me that I was strong and capable.
Amy has so many techniques to aid with pain management that helped me get through some very challenging contractions and back pain. My baby was OP right before birth and it’s possible that through the techniques she utilized and employed that it helped my baby turn into an ideal position for the actual birth.
I know for sure that, because of Amy’s support, I was able to have a beautiful and successful water birth. Without it, I believe things would have turned out very differently. She even stayed around after the birth to continue to offer emotional support. I feel Amy went above and beyond to make my labor and birth a successful one.
Amy is very knowledgeable and professional. She provided a lot of great information for both our initial meeting and post birth. She has a confident and calm presence. I appreciate the way she communicated with me, my partner, and all if the medical staff along the way.
My partner and I were so incredibly grateful for Amy’s emotional support and physical presence for the birth of our son. We couldn’t have asked for better support. If I do have a second child, I will most definitely be hiring Amy to support me through that birth as well! She is amazing!
