I can't recommend Fernanda enough as a doula! We worked with Fernanda to prepare for the birth of our first boy, and she was absolutely amazing!
The pregnancy was during the COVID pandemic and Fernanda provided us with very relevant and helpful information. As first time parents this was so helpful, she gave us time to review everything and was always available for questions. Since Fernanda is bilingual in Portugeuse and English, this was hugely helpful in preparing for the birth as my wife is Brazilian. This was especially reassuring as none of our family could be in the room or even the same coutry as us during the birth. Some of the most helpful information she provided was a review of the terms they would be using in the delivery room. Fernanda helped us to get grounded both from an emotional level but also practically.
During pre-labor and the multiple false labors that we experienced, Fernanda was extremely supportive via text and phone. and when I progressed into labor she immediately came to the hospital. Unfortunately, Fernanda was not there with us during the birth due to us needing an emergency c-section but she visited us mutliple times post birth to support us and also at our house once we returned home.
We still engage Fernanda to discuss our now two children as we have developed a great relationship with her and look at her as an aunt of our children!
We are 100% happy with our decision to have Fernanda support us through this journey. She was a knowledgeable, informative, positive, calming, reassuring, thoughtful presence through each step of the way. We could not have asked for a better experience. If you are looking for a doula, I highly recommend.
