Having Kelly as our doula turned out to be one of the best and most important decisions we made regarding our birth “plan.” As a first time mom and private person, I originally wasn’t interested in having a doula and I am so glad that I decided to go for it. The resources Kelly provided throughout my pregnancy, labor, and postpartum periods took so much of the burden off of me and my partner. I truly believe that the birth of our daughter would have gone so, so differently without Kelly there to help make big, hard decisions and coordinate our transfer from a planned home birth to the hospital. Kelly went above and beyond for us, and the connections she has built from being the amazing birth worker that she is made what could’ve been a traumatic experience something that I feel content and at peace with. We are forever grateful for Kelly and hope that she is still working as a doula when we decide to have another!
