I'm not sure where to start with my review because my husband and I can't say enough great things about our experience with Barbie! My first phone call with Barbie just to inquire about her services was what sealed the deal. She helped me understand what I was really looking for in a doula and in the birth experience. She informed me how a midwife practice differed from your typical OB which pushed me to do more research and switch my care. I felt like a number at my OB practice, but after my first appointment with a midwife I felt heard and like they truly cared. I wouldn't have switched if it wasn't for Barbie and I couldn't be happier about my decision. Before our first actual meeting with Barbie my husband was very hesitant about hiring a doula. However, after our first meeting he was so excited to have her be a part of this and so grateful for her knowledge and experience. She guided us with what to expect and what decisions we would have to make. We would have been 3 steps behind in the process had we not had her help. Barbie helped us labor at home as long as possible and gave us confidence in how we were handling it, and when we got to the hospital I was 7 centimeters and able to get admitted . It was so comforting to have Babrie with us during our very spontaneous delivery and after our baby girl arrived. She added a calm and confident energy to the entire experience that we couldn't have provided ourselves and it's truly what made our experience so great. Barbie feels like she is part of our family and will absolutely be a part of our future births!
