Denise is amazing. My husband was initially hesitant to use a doula for fear that the doula would take over his perceived roles. Many people cautioned me against choosing a doula that "had their own agenda." After meeting with Denise it was very clear that her agenda was to support me and my husband. My labor didn't follow the usual guidelines laid out in the birthing classes which left me uneasy and concerned. She was available to me and my support team no matter the time of day. This was amazingly comforting as this was my first pregnancy and I was hesitant to call the doctors. Denise came to my home to reassure me, comfort me and support me and my husband!
During my delivery she had so many tricks. Everything that I thought that I wanted didn't feel good. She found various positions and techniques to guide me through and helped create an amazing experience. The experience that I initially feared, though her guidance, turned into one of the most amazing events of my life all because of her support. She advocated for the best experience, listened to my needs, anticipate my fears and read my body better than any hospital staff. She guided my husband and my sister allowing them to create the best experience possible.
