One of my friends had Suzanne during labor and she recommended having doula as she helped with pain management during her labor. I had no family here and I wanted a normal delivery so that I can recover faster and take care of my child. Suzanne and Cary worked with me during Prepartum on few exercises, breathing techniques that helped me withstand pain. During labor, Suzanne was with me from beginning of the labor, stood by my husband and me. It was all new for us and without family support we were able to get thru the labor and postpartum phase relatively easily due to Suzanne. Suzanne shared techniques that helped breastfeeding even before my child was born and I was able to nurse/ give breast milk thru bottle to my baby without supplement till now.
