You know when you meet someone and instantly know they're going to be a special part of your life? That's how I felt when I met Heather. It was serendipitous, and when I found out she was a doula, I knew she came into my life for a reason, and I (of course) hired her. Heather guided us to the most educational and truly helpful birth classes; she helped us understand pros and cons of so many birth aspects and create a clear and meaningful birth plan; and, most importantly, was a HERO during the arrival of our first baby. He came 4 weeks early. Heather kept us calm, labored with us, was attentive not only to me but also to my husband during the birth so that he was involved and aware, and literally held my hand when I needed her. Her presence during the birth of our baby boy made the entire experience so much more magical than it otherwise would have been. She was calm, attentive, aware, and is overall one of the kindest and purest humans you'll ever get to meet. She is absolutely the person I would want in the delivery room with me again.
